We are seeking a System Administrator. Responsibilities would include, but are not limited to, administering a Server development room and participating in a System archive process.
Responsibilities: Development Lab Administrator Managing Server development Lab Keeping track of environment and activities Providing Status Reports of environment Evolve the environment Create and implement a backup and recovery process Organize and manage cabling Consolidate and decommission Servers Collaborate with business and systems developers Communicating current and future company standards Discussing systems needed for development projects Building systems to project requirements Adapting systems to project needs Setting up environment for patch testing Ongoing Support Install, support, and maintain Servers. Planning for and responding to planned and unplanned service outages Responding to planned and unplanned hardware outages Scripting and Shell programming for maintenance task Project management for systems-related projects Installing and configuring off the self-software packages System Archive Analyst Answer data retrieval requests Determine how to retrieve the requested data Connecting to appropriate Virtual Archive Environment resources Following instructions to answer requesters data needs Provide the data to requester in required format Working with SME to configure system for archival Setup systems required to facilitate the archiving, viewing and presenting data Virtualize data and/or Servers into the archive environment Verify and or develop data retrieval documentation Document archive activities with appropriate documentation Parallel manage multiple projects Configure computer hardware, physical and virtual Configure interoperability between applications, databases and client software Install and configure enterprise level software Install and Configure RDBMs (Oracle/MS SQL Server) Migration of databases Troubleshoot computer and software issues - L3 Follow Standard Operation Procedures Execute test scripts Review/update all documentation Develop and write procedural protocols and test scripts Verification of migration of data over LAN/WAN Recommend improvement to the existing procedures Develop and write supporting documentation Communicate to various levels of technical skill sets in an effective manner Communicate across all levels of staff and management Work independently as well as in a team environment Utilize tools to migrate to a virtual environment Administer virtual environments Accurately track and report project hours Work with GMP and validated systems Comply with corporate processes SKILLS:
Requirements: Expertise in the Installation, use, administration and troubleshooting of: Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2 Servers, VMware 3.5 ESX/ESXi, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, 2003, 2005, 2008 and 2008R2, Oracle 8i, 9i, 10g, and 11g, Redhat Linux 3, 4 and 5 Expertise in the Installation, use, administration and troubleshooting of VMware Virtual environments Hardware expertise in the Installation, use, administration and troubleshooting of: HP DL, ML and DLG Servers, Dell Power Edge, Storage Management, SAN, NAS, NFS, LUNS Understanding of DNS and TCP/IP Infrastructure Management Cabling Electrical Experience configuring & troubleshooting the interoperability between applications, databases and client software Understanding of interdependency of systems (ie Application, Database, Web, File Servers and client systems) Strong organization skills Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of staff and management Detail oriented Excellent interpersonal skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Solid troubleshooting and problem solving skills Experience determining how to maneuver unfamiliar applicationsPlus: A
Certification Experience in the pharmaceutical industry Experience with GMP systems Experience working with Solaris & SunFire Servers Understanding of Active Directory & authentication technologies Experience with different virtualization tools, such as: Platespin Migrate, VMware Converter, and Acronis Backup and Recovery Understanding of system clustering Valid passport for international travel (limited if any) Experience working with AS400Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
